The Candidates on DARFUR - READ THEIR JOIN STATEMENT
Dear Mr. President, As a candidate you promised "unstinting resolve" to end the genocide in Darfur. I urge you to keep that promise by making Darfur a priority from day one of your term to achieve:
- Protection of civilians from violence, starvation and disease
- Sustainable peace for all Sudan
- Justice for victims and accountability for perpetrators
SAVE DARFUR
Scenes from Save Darfur’s inauguration day activities
January 19th: Save Darfur staff prepping for Inauguration Day:

Volunteers answered President Obama's call to service and celebrated Martin Luther King day with a day "on" at Save Darfur (Thanks!).
January 20th: Volunteers began to arrive at the office around 6:45 am. We greeted them with coffee!

Around 6:50 am Save Darfur President Jerry Fowler signed the first postcard of the day!

At 11 am I ran into volunteers who had left Pittsburgh on buses at midnight. They were still cheerful and collecting signatures like crazy (although I did see them bribe one potential signatory with peanut butter crackers...!)
